HCG for Men: Uses, Benefits, Side Effects, and hCG vs. Enclomiphene
Human chorionic gonadotropin, commonly called hCG, is a hormone that works in a similar way to luteinizing hormone (LH).
In men, LH sends a signal to the testicles to produce testosterone. hCG can provide a similar signal directly to the testicles. Depending on the reason it is prescribed, hCG may help increase testosterone production, support testicular function, and play an important role in male fertility treatment.
hCG is used medically in selected men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and may also be used as part of fertility treatment. It is sometimes prescribed alongside testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), but its role depends on the person’s goals, especially whether fertility is important.
